Dragon's Gateรค Soars Again

Long Running Massively Multiplayer Game Goes LIVE on Mothership Games

Fairfax, Va., January 30th, 2001 - Mythic Entertainment announced today that its massively multiplayer online role-playing game DRAGON'S GATE has debuted on Mothership Games. Mothership Games was created in partnership with the New Media division of Centropolis Entertainment, the filmmaking team responsible for such Hollywood blockbuster films as STARGATE, INDEPENDENCE DAY, and GODZILLA. Mothership Games now features five online-only games including INDEPENDENCE DAY ONLINE and SPELLBINDER: THE NEXUS CONFLICT. After a long and successful run as one of the most popular play-for-play games on America Online, DRAGON'S GATE will now be made available to the Internet community as a featured product on that gaming site.

DRAGON'S GATE, a text and GUI-based role-playing game, is one of the longest running pay-for-play games in the game industry, having debuted over a decade ago. It is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that allows thousands of players to compete with and against each other 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a world that has been expanded and refined since its inception. With 20 different races and 14 character classes from which to choose and nearly 15,000 locations to explore, DRAGON'S GATE's depth and sweeping vision stands unmatched.

"It's a testimonial to the Dragon's Gate community that over a decade after its initial launch our first world is still going strong," said Mythic President Mark Jacobs. "Even with the advent of such tremendous games as Ultima Online, EverQuest and Asheron's Call, the appeal of worlds such as Dragon's Gate has not weakened."

"We are excited to bring Dragon's Gate to the gaming center," said Centropolis partner Dean Devlin. "It is the first addition of the year, but certainly not the last."

DRAGON'S GATE's dedicated staff, with over a decade of customer service experience, works to improve the game and enhance the player's experience in it, making DRAGON'S GATE the premier text-based role-playing game in the industry. DRAGON'S GATE pioneered the use of games and tournaments, custom GM-run quests, scenarios and other events that are now part of almost every other online role-playing game. There are no extra charges or upgrades required for people to enjoy these aspects of the game; all that is required is an eager spirit!

"As with all online games, the focus of Dragon's Gate is to immerse the player into a rich and detailed world," explained Jacobs. "And our players will be happy to know that Dragon's Gate will continue to grow as we improve and enhance it as we have done for the last decade."
