Mythic Entertainment Named Among the Fastest Growing
Technology Companies in America
Mythic Listed on Deloitte &
Touche’s National “Technology Fast 500” and on the Regional Virginia
“Technology Fast 50”
FAIRFAX, VA – OCTOBER 16, 2002 – Mythic Entertainment (www.mythicentertainment.com),
creators of the award winning online game Dark Age of Camelot and one of the
most successful online gaming companies in the world, announced today that it
has been named among Deloitte & Touche’s prestigious 2002 “Technology Fast
500.” Rankings are based on the
percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues from 1997-2001.
Mythic is number 421 on the
“Technology Fast 500” list, which will appear on Forbes.com and Fast500.com
starting October 16. Mythic also
appeared on the Virginia regional Fast 50 list, at number 20.

joining such industry leaders as Activision and Take Two Interactive. We are also the only private game developer
and publisher of online games to make the list,” said Mark

To
qualify for the Technology Fast 50 and Fast 500, companies must have had
operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1997 and $1 million in 2001, and must
be “technology companies” defined as companies that own proprietary technology
that contributes to a significant portion of the company’s operating revenues
or devotes a high percentage of effort to research and development of
technology. On
October 10, Mythic was honored at a ceremony in Vienna, VA for the regional
Fast 50.

This announcement comes just months
before the company launches the much-anticipated expansion pack, Dark Age of
Camelot: Shrouded Isles. Mythic’s hit game Dark Age of Camelot is the fastest growing massively
multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) in North America and Europe. To date, over 500,000 people worldwide have
played and currently over 200,000 people subscribe to Dark Age of Camelot. The game recently launched in Korea, where
over 100,000 people participated in the open beta. Dark Age of Camelot:
Shrouded Isles is the first expansion pack for Dark Age of Camelot
players. It extends the story of the
original game with new character classes, new races, and three new
continents. The game is scheduled for
release in mid-December, and is developed by Mythic Entertainment and
co-published with Abandon Entertainment.
