Interworld Productions Teams with ARIES to Launch Silent Death™
Online game will use ARIES 96 platform
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA May 9, 1997. - ARIES Online games, pioneer and leading publisher of massively multiplayer online games, announced today that it will publish Interworld Productions' space combat strategy game, Silent Death, using the ARIES 96 platform. The ARIES 96 platform can accommodate 10,000 simultaneous users in a single game. ARIES' distribution partnerships deliver immediate turn-key access to over 12 million paying subscribers through America Online, Prodigy, CompuServe, EarthLink Network, and Delphi.
"The reality of our industry is that companies come and go, but not ARIES," said Mark Jacobs, CEO of Interworld Productions. "For the past fifteen years, they've been perfecting their client/host technology and we want their technological superiority on our side."
Based on a license from Iron Crown Enterprises, Silent Death is a unique, fast-paced ship-to-ship, space combat game in which players fight their way up from controlling one small ship to controlling a heavily-armed armada. Set in a universe of brutality and wrath where justice is meted out from the barrels of Pulse Lasers and Impulse guns, fighters and gunboats streak to their final, cataclysmic rendezvous.
"We're always looking for first-rate games developed by first-rate companies," said John Taylor, President of ARIES Online Games. "In this case, we struck gold both times. Silent Death is going to be a big hit."
Before choosing ARIES Online Games, Interworld Productions had worked with ENGAGE Games Online to publish its five previous online games including Splatterball™ and Rolemaster: Magestorm™.
