We know not all of our fans can make it over to Germany to go to Leipzig. Sure, there are tons of videos and write-ups of the games that are there, but what is being at GC Germany really like? In an effort to answer that, Ten Ton Hammer followed our very own Paul Barnett and Josh Drescher around the show to take you on a video crash course in what Leipzig is actually like. And for those of you who are looking for the cold hard facts about WAR, don't miss their video interview with Josh.

The North American NDA has been lifted and these guys must have seen it coming because coverage started rolling in faster than you can say "praise Sigmar." Hot off the (digital) presses are the first WAR beta previews.

Games Convention (Germany) keeps getting bigger and bigger every year, but no game had a bigger showing this year than WAR. It was a fantastic show for us, and to top things off, it was announced that Warhammer Online won Best Online Game at the show! WAR was praised in the announcement release for its "spectacular visuals, innovative play modi, neat control and an enormous, appealing fantasy world."

Everyone loves them and now Game Trailers has posted more videos for you to sit back and drool over. There's more awesome game play videos, an interview with your favorite Englishman, Paul Barnett, and a video of the Bastion Stair... very cool.

Sure, not everyone can be in the WAR Closed Beta, but now you can be a little bit closer. GameSpy has finished up their first week of their War Journal, chronicling their time in the WAR beta. I hope you've got some free time because it's up to 27 pages... thats not a typo.
Between the High Elves and the Dark Elves, you've got seven classes to choose from. How are you supposed to know which ones for you? Massively has been nice enough to do all the hard work for you and have assembled a massive amount of information with everything you could need to know about the elves, and there’s more coming in everyday!

We've had a steady trickle of coverage on the site so far of Comic-Con coverage, but now here's the tidal wave of press you've been waiting for. You may want to grab a snack before you sit down to read it all.

IGN's Greg Miller, a self-proclaimed console guy, was reintroduced to the MMO genre at Comic Con by taking Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning for a test drive. The efforts of Kralam the Black Orc have not gone unnoticed, and Skarzag is pleased that a few more stunties have been sent to the bone yard.
Ten Ton Hammer turns the camera on Josh, twice, who takes the opportunity to dive deep into the final style and structure of the RvR Campaign in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.
Paul Barnett, between spelunking sojourns into the depths of Comic-con, will be blogging his experiences on Ten Ton Hammer. So read, absorb, and ponder the scribblings of WAR's Creative Director as he basks in the glory of the 'Geek Prom'. He got all dressed up and everything.

There were a lot of awesome games at E3 this year and we're very proud to say that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning was chosen asX-Play's Best of E3: PC choice. Check out the full list of winners, including WAR, here.
Gamespot stopped by the EA booth at E3 to check out WAR and as always, it did not disappoint. Not only did they get to see the White Lion in action, they also got a little more insight into what the next phase of the WAR beta, Guild Beta, will entail. If their preview isn't enough to keep you busy, there's also an interview with Mark Jacobs to go along with it.

It's that time of the year again; E3. Of course, IGN stopped by and checked out WAR and got to see some of the new moves the White Lion and Magus have up their sleeves. Oh yeah, they also got access to the WAR Beta. It's ok to be jealous.
It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it; Mark Jacobs sat down with Jon Wood from MMORPg.com to break the news that WAR will see career and capital city cuts from launch and what this will mean to the players and the rest of the game. They also discussed the recent move from EA Mythic back to Mythic Entertainment.

All you WAR fans who like to get your information in video form are in luck once again; Gametrailers.com has released a couple awesome new videos. There's more of Jeff & Paul to be had in the Developer Interview and don't miss the video "Epic Places"... that one's pretty self explanatory.

IGN stopped by to visit Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning at the recent EA pre-E3 event. We let them go smashing through Troll Country and now they've posted their latest WAR preview which includes new video interview with Jeff & Paul, a bunch of game play footage, and a few new screens.

Twenty four race specific careers is quite a few for any game that focuses on more than just PvE. Many people have been curious to know how we manage it all and how WAR ended up with its 24 careers. Mythic's Adam Gershowitz sat down with Jon Wood from MMORPG.com and gave them the answers. So many that it needed two stories. He likes to talk.
Part 1 / Part 2

All the excitement Jeff and Paul can dish out, and none of the reading; G4 TV got a chance to talk with them and get a quick run down on WAR. If you happened to catch it on TV, well you didn't catch it all, because there's some web exclusive content as well. Print really doesn't do this twosome justice, so make sure to check this one out.
E3 is still a month or so away, but we thought we'd let IGN get a preview a little early and let them smash their way through Troll Country as a Chaos Chosen. Good fun. Here's the preview as well as a bunch of sweet new game play videos, concept art, and screens!

If you haven't heard of Dreamhack, in Sweden, then you must have been hiding under a rock for the last few years. Dreamhack summer 2008 set the world record with 10,638 people in LAN. That beats the usual basement LAN party by a little. WAR was at the world's largest LAN party, and Mr. Paul Barnett was there to spread the good word. Here are a couple videos of the event, and you can make up your own words to go over the Swedish commentary.
Video 1 / Video 2
Just in case you didn't get enough about crafting from the newsletter or Gamespy, Garrett Fuller and Radar X from Ten Ton Hammer have got what you need. They got the chance to talk to Mark Jacobs more in-depth about crafting, and they came prepared with a laundry list of questions. Check it out.
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3
Recently, Michael Zenke from Massively.com stopped by the studio for a couple days of nothing but WAR. He's been posting massive amounts of WAR since his visit; so much so that he's probably worn his fingers down to nubs. Poor guy... but that's good for you! There's all sorts of info ranging from careers, to guilds, to capital cities, along with a few interviews and some new screenshots. You owe it to poor Michael to check it out.
The new kid on the block, BigDownload.com, has been doing some features on PvP vs. PvE. Of course, that wouldn't be complete without WAR, so Jeff Hickman, Senior Producer for WAR, enlightened them on why RvR will change the way the world think about PvP vs. PvE. Check it out.

Ever wonder just who Mark Jacobs is? Or what he does? Now you can learn more. Venture Beat got a chance to talk to Mark about Warhammer, Mythic, and the MMO industry. Check out the interview here.
So far we've been pretty tight lipped about crafting, but now its time in the sun has come. Mark Jacobs has spilt the beans on what WAR's crafting system will entail and how it was developed and Gamespy was there to pick up those beans, just for you.

What's better than an axe as tall as a person? How about that axe and a lion. Gamespot got to be the first to get the info on these brutal warriors and their awesome pets from the land of Chrace. They've got an interview with Adam Gershowitz, the man who knows all about WAR's careers and combat systems as well as a video from Adam giving all the details about the White Lion.

Jeff, Paul, and Josh along with Adam Gershowitz and Destin Bales, or "the WAR boys" as one site put it, got on the phone to answer some of the many questions that the devoted have been sending our way. Though the event was described as "controlled madness", "a touch unpredictable", and "chaotic fun Sprinkled with crack", there were still many great new questions answered, as well as some info to fill in the nooks and crannies so far unexplored in some of the more familiar topics. And here's your quote of the day.

CVG's PC Zone was recently at a press event in the UK and checked out what WAR has to offer. RvR seems to have left an impression on them.
"So, if you've been reticent about PvP combat, or ignoring Warhammer Online because of it, it's about time you stop doing so and start getting yourself ready - [WAR] is coming, and it's going to change absolutely everything."
We love that quote. WAAAGH!!!

Well folks, New York Comic Con has come and gone, but WAR has left its mark. Here's a ton of great videos and articles to check out, loaded with juicy details. We're going to be taking WAR all over the country the year, so consider this your preview of what you'll get when WAR come to a show near you. Don't miss it! FYI, one of the videos contains Paul Barnett in a thong and a close call with the Incredible Hulk...you've been warned.

Every so often, a few of our Devs muster up the courage to bring the light of WAR to the deepest darkest corners of the internet... and by that I mean IRC. Stratics.com hosted one of their House of Commons IRC dev chats for WAR and for those of you who couldn't make it (or couldn't get into the channel, which was full), they've posted the log from the event.

WarCry recently got a chance to come out to the studio and check out the latest that Warhammer Online has to offer, including some awesome RvR action.
"Keep capture contributes to your side's overall control of a zone and these will probably be the RvR hotspots when the game goes live, which means this is where I'll be hanging out most of the time, trying to get a High Elf to hold still long enough for me to get a ballista shot off."
We love to see that kind of bloodlust develop in such a short period of time. It warms our hearts. Check out the new hands-on preview of WAR as well their keeps and city siege preview.

The feud wouldn't be complete without ending it with a taste of what's to come. IGN and Gamespy got to see what WAR's RvR all adds up to and got to try city siege first hand. Who doesn't love burning, looting, and pillaging an entire city?
"We at last reached the main event of the day -- in an actual city siege. The first thing we realized as we sat down to play was that whatever players think city sieges are, they're thinking too small. These are massive events."

Just five days after the announcement of the Warhammer Online Collector's Edition, it has already moved to the top of Amazon.com video game sales charts for all formats, moving ahead of many big sellers. WAR is coming...
If you've visited Ten Ton Hammer recently, you've probably noticed that they have been taken over by WAR! They literally have so much new coverage that we don't even have the room to put all the links here. They have more than an hour of video footage and a heap of articles from their visit to the studio, and there's still more to come. There's tons of new coverage (pun intended) on Altdorf, the Inevitable City, crafting, trophies, and more, as well as updates on all the classics like the Tome of Knowledge. Of course, there's also a little Paul Barnett thrown in there for good measure. This is not one to miss.

On the cloud of the delay of WAR was a silver lining: 7 magical pounds of it. The Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collector's Edition has been revealed and preorders have begun! Check out all the articles below to get hands-on impressions of just how awesome the WAR Collector's Edition is, as well as information from the WAR Herald. It may be... dare I say... the best Collector's Edition ever. And you had better act fast because the quantities are limited!

Here at Mythic, we always try to run things in true Warhammer fashion. So when IGN and Gamepy came to visit, was there really any other option than to pit people who were once cohorts against one another in a fight to the death? Nope.
"Last week, IGN and Gamespy had the rare privilege of heading out to Mythic to get our hands on the latest version of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and to go head-to-head in a fight between the forces of Order and Chaos. In keeping with the different personalities of our networks (and the hygiene habits of our editors), we of course choose the refined, graceful High Elves. Gamespy opted for the loathsome, baby-kicking Dark Elves."
After limping away with all manor of cuts and bruises, and a few less teeth, IGN and Gamepy have come back with page upon page of WAR glory. For starters, there are hands on articles detailing both sides of the endless bloodshed and struggle for the Elven homelands of Ulthuan as well as tons of video interviews with Jeff and Paul. We know you love it. And for those WAR fans out there who crave the grueling technical details, make sure to check out Gamespy's article on Career Mastery. There's loads of other new info as well about everything from Public Quests, to loot, to careers in these five articles and five video interviews (yes, you read that correctly, five of each) and there's still more to come!

"Warhammer Online is shaping up to be a real contender in the never-ending war of the MMORPG's. Some of the features are outstanding, and thanks to EA's presentation we can really see what all the fuss is about!"
Check out the article to read The Hickman's entire presentation.

"I don't want to crush too hard on Electronic Arts' (ERTS) Mythic Entertainment division, but Creative Director Paul Barnett's talk at the show about MMO's is one of the most non-geek accessible I've ever heard and it manages to smartly analogize the games industry to both films and Las Vegas without being heavy handed. It's also funny."
Here's 20 minutes of Barnett goodness.

"The team at EA Mythic spent all day showing off so many facets of the game, from the masteries for many of the character classes to the armor and dye permutations that let you customize your character, and much more. It was a lot to take in, but it underscores what a massive undertaking Warhammer Online is."

"There's no rainbow over this magical kingdom, it's a realm where revenge, murder, atrocity, demons and a host of racial grudges fuel an endless cycle of combat, attacks, counters, glorious victories, desperate last stands and the sacking of enemy cities. How much fun is that? (Rhetorical.) ... We are so looking forward to the day the Waaaagh! begins."
"Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning looks to seamlessly blend PvE and PvP experiences through the implementation of "Realm vs. Realm" conflicts, which could prove to be the game's defining factorâ€"enough to set it apart from other fantasy MMORPGs."

"Unlike World of Warcraft's player-versus-player combat, which takes place in pocket dimensions away from the daily life of Azeroth, battles in WAR will be raging constantly, and each fight will have strategic and economic impacts on each faction's day-to-day existence."
